Almond Fragrances

An almond accord usually smells soft, nutty, creamy, and slightly sweet, with facets that can range from marzipan and amaretto to toasted nuts, bitter almond, or milky pastry cream. In gourmand fragrances, it brings a comforting edible quality and often blends with vanilla, tonka bean, cacao, cherry, caramel, or lactonic notes. In powdery or floral compositions, almond can feel more cosmetic, delicate, and skin-like, especially when paired with heliotrope, iris, musk, or orange blossom. Its bitter edge can add sophistication, preventing sweetness from becoming flat. Depending on the formula, almond may feel cozy and dessert-like, smooth and sensual, or dry and powdery.
