Anis Fragrances

An anise accord has a distinctive sweet-spicy aroma reminiscent of anise seed, licorice, fennel, or pastis. It can feel cool, herbal, slightly medicinal, and aromatic, with a smooth sweetness that differs from vanilla or fruit. In fragrance, anise is often used to add contrast and lift to lavender, mint, basil, tarragon, citrus, and other aromatic notes. It can also bring a dark gourmand twist when paired with cacao, cherry, almond, tobacco, or warm spices. Depending on the surrounding materials, the accord may read fresh and green, playful and candy-like, or mysterious and absinthe-like, especially in fougères and niche compositions.
