Camphor Fragrances
A camphor accord smells cool, sharp, penetrating, and medicinal, with a vaporous freshness that can recall eucalyptus, menthol, rosemary, mothballs, or crushed aromatic leaves. In fragrance, it often adds lift and tension to woods, herbs, incense, leather, patchouli, and green compositions. Used in small amounts, camphor can make a scent feel bracing, clean, and outdoorsy; in stronger doses, it becomes austere, resinous, or almost clinical. It frequently appears alongside lavender, pine, cypress, sage, mint, oud, and smoky materials, where its icy bite contrasts with warmth and darkness. The effect can feel therapeutic, forest-like, vintage, or avant-garde.
