Cedar Fragrances

A cedar accord smells dry, woody, clean, and slightly pencil-like, with facets that may feel airy, resinous, smoky, mineral, or softly spicy. It is one of perfumery’s most versatile wood effects, often used to structure a fragrance and give it a crisp, elegant backbone. Cedar pairs easily with citrus, vetiver, patchouli, lavender, musk, amber, leather, tobacco, incense, and aromatics. In fresh compositions, it can feel bright and architectural; in darker scents, it adds dryness and forest-like depth. Some cedar accords emphasize smooth blond wood, while others suggest cedar closets, shavings, bark, or freshly cut timber.
