Chocolate Fragrances

A chocolate accord smells sweet, creamy, rich, and cocoa-like, ranging from milk chocolate and truffle filling to dark chocolate, cocoa powder, or melted ganache. It is strongly associated with gourmand perfumery, but its roasted, bitter, and powdery facets can also add depth to woods, patchouli, tobacco, amber, coffee, and spices. Chocolate often pairs with vanilla, caramel, hazelnut, almond, cherry, orange, rose, tonka bean, milk notes, and musks. Some fragrances use it as a delicious centerpiece, while others keep it drier and more abstract. Depending on the balance, the accord can feel comforting, seductive, playful, dark, or velvety.
