Citrus Fragrances

A citrus accord smells bright, zesty, fresh, and uplifting, drawing on materials that suggest lemon, bergamot, orange, grapefruit, lime, mandarin, or yuzu. It is often used at the opening of a fragrance to create sparkle, clarity, and immediate energy. Citrus can feel juicy and fruity, bitter and aromatic, green and rind-like, or clean and cologne-like depending on the blend. It pairs easily with neroli, petitgrain, herbs, ginger, woods, musk, tea, marine notes, and white florals. While many citrus effects are fleeting by nature, they can shape the whole mood of a perfume, making it feel crisp, sunny, casual, or elegant.
